Swift & Easy Access
'Are you concerned that your child's particular needs are not being met in their school? Extended schools, working closely with other statutory services and the voluntary sector, should have a focus on early identification of, and support for, children and young people who have additional needs or who are at risk of poor outcomes. This includes those with behavioural, emotional and health needs.

Sometimes, a student’s education is affected by personal, emotional, or family concerns. Teachers want to be supportive, and to help that child or young person achieve their potential … but knowing where to turn can be a challenge.
To facilitate swift and easy access to specialist services, ‘More Than Schools’ publishes The Ext. Directory which gives information and contact details for 26 local specialist providers plus information on around 30 national helplines and other resources.
Copies have been sent out to all schools within the ‘More Than Schools’ partnership; an electronic version is available here.

YISP
YISP (youth inclusion support panel) is part of the Youth Offending Team’s Prevention Services. YISP was set up in Hampshire almost four years ago and started working in only three districts, we now have a YISP office in all eleven districts of Hampshire with an average of two case workers in each area. Each case worker is involved with up to 15 young people and their families at any one time.
YISP is an early intervention service that works with young people aged between 8-13 years ‘at risk’ of offending and anti social behaviour. Both the parent and child must give their consent to work with YISP and it relies on voluntary participation on their part.
YISP works by compiling individual intervention plans for each young person working on the risk factors in their lives that are enhancing their chances of offending and anti social behaviour. We offer therapeutic interventions, support in school, parenting support and a variety of positive activities and mentoring opportunities.
Any community member, agency, parent or even young person can refer to YISP if they have concerns about a young persons behaviour.
To contact your local YISP team you can look on Hantsfish or call 01962 876100 YOT HA and they will give you the correct contact details.
