Support for Parents
Research has shown that good parenting in the home makes a big difference to children’s outcomes. Schools which work in partnership with parents to support their children’s learning and development can expect significant, consistent and lasting benefits.
By providing access to information sessions for parents at key transition points in their children’s lives, parenting programmes, family learning sessions and signposting, schools can help children’s learning and behaviour.

The County Parenting Team co-ordinates and promotes the delivery of high quality parenting support in Hampshire. We support and train practitioners in their delivery of:
Confident Parents Confident Kids (CPCK)
Supporting Parents of Teenagers (SPOT) and
Special Children, Special Parents (SCSP).
The Team is currently overseeing two DCSF funded projects:
Starting School Project (with the focus on transition at Year R and Year 7) and The Triple P Project (Positive Parenting Programme) which is an evidence-based programme in two versions (under 12’s and teens). We also deliver Working with Parents training, in line with the National Occupational Standards.
